Zinc is capable of slowing down inflammation

A University of Ohio study, published by Cell Reports, confirms that zinc is capable of slowing down inflammation. Zinc deficiency may promote acute and chronic inflammatory processes in aging. In experiments on human and animal cells researchers have demonstrated that a protein called NF-kb carries zinc inside the cells of the immune system. The researchers explain that “the proper amount of zinc prevents the immune process from going out of control, actually the immune system works with a very precise equilibrium. The immune response must be valid, but not excessive”
