Origen botánico: Hura crepitans: Euforbiaceae.

Nombre común: Assacu.

Hábitat: Brasil.

Representación analógica/simbólica: Los indios de la selva amazónica siguen utilizando látex venenoso del árbol para empapar la punta de la flecha durante la caza; hace parte, como aditivo,  del compuesto alucinógeno conocido como Ayahuasca (derivado de Banisteriopsis caapi, planta enredadera con efectos psicoactivos, conteniente alcaloides armalinicos conocidos como: harmina, tetrahidroharmina y harmalina, todos antagonistas de la serotonina, inhibiendo la monaoamino oxidasa).

Propiedades terapéuticas alopáticas: En la medicina popular las infusiones de sus flores se utilizan por vía tópica para el tratamiento de forúnculos; el triturado de las hojas se aplica encima de los reumatismos. El látex es un potente antihelmíntico.

Propiedades terapéuticas homeopáticas: Acción en la piel y el recto.

Clínica: Las hemorroides, úlceras en el recto, cáncer de recto. Fue empleado en la lepra.

Síntomas generales: irritabilidad nerviosa. Enrojecimiento de la cara congestionada. Dolores agudos  que exasperan el paciente, con latidos. Dolores punzantes en el abdomen con pinchazos en la región ileo cecal que empeoran en movimiento. Estreñimiento con necesidades ineficaces y frecuentes y, en ocasiones, diarrea con irritación y ardor, seguida de debilidad. Opresión en el ano con intenso ardor. Necesidades urgentes de orinar con dolor en los riñones andando. Sensación de peso de los testículos, aún peor caminando.

Origine botanica: Euforbiaceae: Hura crepitans.

Nome comune: Assacu.

Habitat: Brasile.

Rappresentazione analogica/simbolica: Gli indios della foresta amazzonica usano ancora il lattice velenoso dell’albero per imbibire la punta delle frecce durante la caccia; fa parte, come additivo, del composto allucinogeno Ayahuasca (derivante dalla Banisteriopsis caapi, pianta rampicante dagli effetti psicoattivi, contenente alcaloidi armalinici noti come: armina, tetraidroarmina e armalina, tutti antagonisti serotoninergici, inibendo la monaoamino ossidasi).

Proprietà terapeutiche allopatiche: Nella medicina popolare gli infusi dei fiori sono usati a livello topico per la cura dei foruncoli; il triturato di foglie è applicato sui reumatismi.

Il lattice è un potente antielmintico.

Proprietà terapeutiche omeopatiche: Azione sulla pelle e sul retto.

Clinica: Emorroidi, ulcerazioni del retto, cancro del retto. È stato impiegato nella lebbra.

Sintomi generali: Irritabilità nervosa. Faccia rossa congestionata. Dolori pungenti, acuti che esasperano il malato, con pulsazioni. Dolori pungenti al ventre con punture nella regione ileo-cecale che peggiorano muovendosi. Stipsi con bisogni inefficaci e frequenti e, a momenti, diarrea irritante e bruciante, seguita da debolezza. Sensazione di costrizione all’ano con bruciori intensi. Bisogni urgenti d’urinare con dolori ai reni camminando. Sensazione di peso ai testicoli, peggiorano camminando.

Hura brasiliensis

Botanical origin: Euphorbiaceae: Hura crepitans.

Common name: Possumwood or Jabillo.

Habitat: Brazil.

Analog / symbolic representation: The Indians of the Amazon forest still use the poisonous tree latex to soak the tip of their arrows when hunting. It is part, as an additive, of the Ayahuasca hallucinogen compound (deriving from Banisteriopsis caapi, climbing plant with psychedelic effect, containing armalinici known as alkaloids: harmine, harmaline and tetrahydroharmine, all serotonin antagonists, inhibiting monaoamino oxidase).

Allopathic therapeutic properties: In traditional medicine flower infusions are used topically for the treatment of boils; the shredded leaf is applied for rheumatism.

Latex is a potent anthelmintic.

Homeopathic therapeutic properties: Action on the skin and rectum.

Clinic: Hemorrhoids, ulceration of the rectum, rectal cancer. It has been used in leprosy.

General symptoms: nervous irritability. Congested red face. Sharp pain, acute pain that exasperate the patient, with throbbing. Stinging pains in the abdomen with pangs in the ileocecal region that worsen when one moves. Constipation with ineffective and frequent bodily needs  and, at times, irritating and burning diarrhea, followed by weakness. Tightness of the anus with intense burning. Urgent need to urinate with kidney pain when walking. Sensation of heaviness in the testicles, worsening when walking.
